The interns have been working on adapting some of the terraces and fields that surround the house, making them fit for the new orchards.
This Friday, they focused on the permaculture “keyhole” design. They choose one of the terraces.
Having that particular piece of land, they worked on the ground, making it fit for agriculture, and then giving it the proper shape.

Once the earth is ready, they placed a layer of straw, using it as mulch, to protect the ground from the inclemency of the weather, some animals, but mainly from the sun. With that done, a final fence was built and placed to protect the space from bigger animals, such as the local wild boars, and it was good to go.
