Dining room floors from old ceramics

The works on the floors of the dining area, inside the house in Can Valldaura, are close to an end. It is more of a peculiar surface than it seems.

The workers who have worked on the restoration of the house have also focused on the recovery of ancient ceramics and bricks that historically belong to the place. They were the snippets of those pieces the ones that have been used with such care and expertise to create the patterns that can be seen now in the dining room floor.

This, on one hand, extends the useful life of the materials that already belonged to the place. Moreover, it seems that the circle is not closed, and that Valldaura is still providing their own materials to be re-interpreted and re-built in the same place where they belong.
