Collserola, with just over 8,000 hectares, is an ideal place for the wild boar. So much so that in a few years their population went from 654 individuals (2004) to up to 805 (2011). The optimum population is estimated to be between four and five specimens per each 100 hectares.
During the last years, the boars have been approaching the limits of the Park and have walked the city, through urbanized areas, searching for food.
They have also been approaching the Valldaura house in a respectful and diligent manner. For almost ten years old house tenants domesticated wild boars.
