60 students, from 35 different countries, of the Master of Advanced Architecture, have gathered for a week in Can Valldaura. The challenge: design and build a geodesic dome, based on the models of Richard Buckminster Fuller, and make it more than nine feet in diameter.
The students have been collecting branches and other natural materials, and with the help of wires, have prepared each of the components to form the hexagonal geodesic structure.

The spherical shape of a dome creates one of the most efficient interior atmospheres and habitable housing. With this design, both the air and the energy can flow without physical barriers. This allows the heating and cooling of the space to naturally occur.
